You will need: a wooden candlestick base (I bought mine at the local thrift shop for $1)
Gorilla Glue, Paint Brush, Burlap, Random buttons
Scissors, Sewing Pins, Styrofoam Cone
Cut strips of burlap and wrap around the cone in a random pattern. Depending on the weave of the burlap you may need to go around the cone twice. Once the burlap is on to your desired pattern or thickness add buttons by securing them with sewing pins. I bought plain white pins at the Dollar store. I then applied more burlap to the bottom of the cone and cut out a spot in the Styrofoam to snugly fit the candlestick base. I applied more glue to the top of the candlestick and on the bottom of the cone and secured. Allow to dry overnight. I honestly don't know how much you would pay for something like this in a retail store? However I love the homemade aged looked to this piece.
