Well.....I think there is such a thing as too much coffee. I know! I know! How can one have too much? However coffee makes your body acidic which isn't a good thing for your health.
I had issues with tea in my younger years as I didn't have much cash and couldn't afford high quality teas. I bought the no name brand on sale and drank it with sugar. It had almost a metallic flavour to it. It wasn't enjoyable. Then I've had bagged herbal teas that tasted like perfume or like weeds. I knew that herbal teas were good for me but why did they have to taste so gross?
So a few years ago when I started adventuring into herbs to grow, I planted some peppermint and lemonbalm plants. They did very well in my garden and I'm a person that has an issue with wasting. So I thought, I'll try and dehydrate my own peppermint. Well I was converted. When my girlfriend came over to my place with a sore stomach I made her that tea. It literally makes your lips tingle and your tummy troubles go away. I think she drank more of that tea than I did.
I started to experiment a bit with what herbs I had dehydrated. The tea pictured above is my favorite (aptly named Tranquila-Tea).
To make this blend you mix an equal amount of organic chamomile, rose petals and lemon verbena. 2 Tablespoons of the blend in a pot of water will make about 4 cups. Add a spoonful of local honey for even greater immune support and it is absolutely delish.
The true test is always on my kids, they are great little guinea pigs. I made the pot of tea and asked them if they would try it for me. It passed with flying colours not only with the 17 year old but with the 7 year old as well. Now that means success.
I love my coffee but now I love my tea too.
