That being said, I tell my husband that he'd better not get me flowers (overpriced) and I don't need anything tacky that I feel obligated to keep. Buh humbug I know. Don't buy me jewelry.... I'd prefer a flock of chickens. I am of the belief that the men in our lives should show their love throughout the year not just on one day. When that one day comes, let's face it, men are under way more pressure than us ladies. If they mess up they are shown on the media to look like barbaric neanderthals if they do.
So here's my suggestion for laid back couples and for those that are single. Keep it simple.....and if you are single, you can score big with the chocolate the day after at the grocery store. Bonus.
Valentines should be about self love. Make sure you set aside that night just for you, pamper yourself. You are worth it. Heck....have a happy heart day at least once a month!
Kick off your shoes and enjoy a relaxing evening. This year, this is my plan.
