Super easy recipe that everyone can enjoy, even the kids. This dinner is full of protein and can be interchanged in so many different ways.
Cook 2 cups of rice like you normally would adding either vegetable or chicken stock to the pot while cooking.
In a frying pan, sautee one medium onion chopped in either 1 tablespoon of butter or olive oil depending on your preference. Once soft add one can of kidney beans drained and rinsed as well as one can white beans, drained and rinsed.
Add 3/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worchestershire Sauce OR Braags
2 Tablespoons Dijon Grainy Mustard
4 Hotdogs cut up (veggie dogs or natural wieners work well without all the extra sulphates)
Once the rice is cooked, add the bean and wiener mix to the rice and stir well. Top with grated cheese if desired and chopped fresh chives. Season with garlic salt and pepper to taste.
You can add veggies to this, such as green and red peppers. Serves 5
